Whimsical House Assembly

Tufts University, 2017

I created this whimsical animation of a house being assembled to showcase my 3D modeling and animation skills developed through the Fall of 2017 in my CAD course.

For the video clip, all 3D modeling was completed in AutoCAD. All materials, animations, lights, and renderings were created in 3ds Max.

THE STORY

A flat sheet of wood is laying on an island table. The sheet of wood separates itself into pieces to create house walls and roofs,  while all remaining wood scraps fly out of the scene. The house then magically assembles itself.

In a flash of light, the model is transformed from a wooden model on a table into a real house made out of brick, glass, and copper in a wooded area. The camera then does a quick walk-through of the house, displaying the interior.
